 Yes,
you still can use M-System R1M-P4 modules for your application.
R1M is a remote I/O module with Modbus communication feature with which you can
form a local network for your monitoring system easily. However, by Modbus standard
the distance for this network is limited within 500 meters.
Now from the scale of your hotel, your network may be farther than this distance.
Still, in this case, you can expand the distance by grouping several R1M-P4 modules
into a local network, and then using a 72EM to convert the Modbus protocol into
Ethernet protocol and lead it to computer.
Another thing one may need to think about is the monitoring software. As the free
monitoring software MSR128 can only monitor up to 128 channels, it is not suitable
for 800-room hotel. But there are bunches of SCADA software from third party.
With the combination of SCADA software and our R1M I/O module, you can easily
configure your own monitoring system. |
We have an application similar to the one on previous issue. This one is a hotel
with larger scale. They have 800 guest rooms and want to monitor the water flow
from flowmeter at each room. Is M-System PC recorder capable in handling this?
