M-System’s MSR128 series is a Windows PC-based recorder software program, which connects to economical I/O modules such as models RZUS, RZMS, R1M, R2M, R3 and R5 for DC mV, mA, thermocouple, RTD/potentiometer inputs and discrete I/Os. The MSR128 is fully featured enabling the logging, trending, acquisition and analysis of application data. Success Story — High speed data sampling application.
At the startup of gravure printing machinery, strict monitoring is required of the surface temperature for both the print and winding tension. Signals from the windings change fast, resulting in expensive measuring equipment to monitor these changes and ensure they are within parameters. At significantly less cost, M-System’s PC recorder software, the MSR128-Light, can plot and store data with 50ms sampling time together with the R1MS. The R1MS PC recorder is a fully isolated device with thermocouple and DC inputs available across all 8 channels. In this application, each pen will be selectable for either an input of DC signal (0 to 10V for the winding tension) or Thermocouple (surface temperature) signal and can easily be exported to Excel files to further analyze data. In this application, the user realized return on investment very shortly, was able to continue to monitor even at high sampling times and also saved valuable startup time due to the simplicity of M-System’s software and user-friendly interfaces.
